HYPER DISINFECTION OF FLOODED AREAS BEGINS

 In order to protect the health of the population of Palilula flooded areas, the expert team of the Public Health Institute Nis started on Tuesday, April 28 the action of hyper disinfection of the areas and facilities in Novo Selo, that were under water during the recent floods. "Because of the rain and wet land, currently can not be treated courtyards and environment that were under water, said Mihajlo Spasić, a doctor at the Nis Institute, so this action, in the next few days, will be from the inside covered with disinfection about hundred housing units.

MOSQUITO TREATMENT WITH ECOLOGICAL PREPARATION BEGINS

 The first mosquito larvicidal treatment in Nis, by Company "SANIT M & M" LTD shall take place from April 28 to 30.  `Dimitrija Tucovica` street in Palilula Municipality, especially part at the Railway station, is called a "black spot" for pedestrians.
In early April of this year, at this point the bus killed 81-year-old woman, in January the car hit the 52-year-old pedestrian in the crosswalk, just a month earlier taxi driver at the crossing in front of the Post killed a pedestrian. In November last year, also at the 63 year old pedestrian was hit, while in June a teeneager was severely injured. LAND "RUNNING" FROM LAST YEAR

 The first landslide that was registered on the territory of Palilula was 10 months ago, and authorities are only reacting now. The declaration of emergency will accelerate the tender procedure (Partizanski kururi Street). Since moving of the land here, the locals from Gabrovac are in fear since there also appeared landslide. They were protesting in front of City Hall and seek emergency response from the authorities.Only ten months after the landslide occurred in the street Partizanski kuriri, which threatens to collapse a few houses, the City Government announced that it will declare an emergency and begin the rehabilitation. In the meantime, the family Vidanović, Micic and Stankovic had to be evacuated because relented retaining walls that protected their homes.

RANKOVIĆ: HOUSES ENDANGERED BY LANDSLIDES WILL BE SAVED

 The chief of Staff for emergency situations in Niš Zarko Rankovic said that the problem of not solving the landslides, which appeared from last year, is in different interpretations of the experts and the `inertia` of the Directorate for construction of Nis.
Although for the landslides in Gabrovac in Partizanski kuriri street and in Palilula Municipality nothing has been done for over a year, councilor in charge of emergency Zarko Rankovic says this Staff has not been just sitting doing nothing on this problem. He stated that the letters were sent to all relevant institutions, including the Ministry of Civil Engineering.

WITH EU SUPPORT EU REHABILITATION OF 58 LANDSLIDES IN SERBIA

 On the territory of Palilula, Nis, so far unknown and unauthorized people are collecting the personal data on citizens so that they allegedly will be training them for work in the company "Jura", as it was announced at a press conference at the Media Center Nis, the case was reported to police. REMEMBERING THE VICTIMS OF BOMBING AFTER 75 YEARS

 Association "Old Niš", cherishing the traditions and heritage of Nis, under the auspices of Palilula Municipality- City of Nis, held this year at the Old Nis cemetery "Gorica" memorial ceremony for the victims of Nis bombing on April 8 1941.  Palilula Municipality is responsible in working on the full integration of Roma into society, said Boban Džunić, president of the Nis Palilula Municipality , on the occasion of the International Roma Day on 8 April. He sent congratulations to all the members of this ethnic minority in Palilula Municipality, where, according to the last census of 2011, there are about 2,745. citizens. "We are doing everything within the limits of our competence, that prejudice can disappear in employment, education of Roma children, all the way to medical care and solving the housing problems, that there is no discrimination on any grounds. Still, most of the families of the Roma population are living in unsanitary conditions, peripherals and non-urban settlements, says President Džunić.

NIS WITHOUT DANGER OF FLOODING - LANDSLIDES ACTIVE

Threatened people were offered temporary accommodation, and this problem in the future should be permanently solved, it is said in the City staff squad for emergency situations. The Mayor of Nis Zoran Perisic says that roadblock in Gabrovac village is not the way to be drawing attention on solving the problem of landslides. ROADBLOCK BECAUSE OF GABROVAC LANDSLIDES

 Gabrovac villagers blocked the road to Nis, demanding to urgently rehabilitate the landslide in the village, which a year ago, caused several houses to collaps. They say the landslide is still active, more houses are threatened,, and heavy rains threaten to make situation even worse.Utility rooms that have been located next to the house of Ljubisa Dejic were razed to the ground.
